SUMMER CAMP
2021

Harding Township Day Camp is your place for summer fun! We want to provide campers with a positive summer camping experience with a variety of activities that emphasize fun, relaxation, and exploration.

Preference is given to Harding Township residents. There are a limited number of openings for non–residents which will be processed as they are received.

CAMP DATES2021

Campers can register for the full 5–week program or in one–week intervals.

Week 1:June 28–July 2
Week 2:July 6–9*
Week 3:July 12–16
Week 4:July 19–23
Week 5:July 26–July 30
* No camp on Monday, July 5.

FACILITIES

The camp is located at the Harding Township School.

STAFF

Camp staff is composed of elementary school teachers, college students and high school students.

As with campers, preference is given to Harding Township residents. There are a limited number of openings for non–residents which will be processed as they are received.

CLOTHING AND POSSESSIONS

Please label all clothing and towels — it will help us identify lost articles.

Please do not bring anything valuable to camp. We are not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.

DROP OFF AND PICK–UP

Drop off and pick–up will be on the elementary circle.

We ask that when dropping off your children you refrain from loitering and having conversations with other parents in their cars. If you need to speak with someone, please park your car in the parking lot.

CAMPERS

PRE-K

The Polliwog program is highly structured, well supervised, and lots of fun! Three– and four–year olds will be in separate groups. A mid–morning snack is provided.

Full–day Polliwogs will follow the regular morning schedule, then stay for lunch (brought from home), a quiet rest time, and free play time.

CAMP HOURS

Weekdays 9am–12pm; full–day Polliwogs stay until 3pm.

ELIGIBILITY

Ages 3 and 4. Campers must be age 3 by June 15. Toilet trained preferred. Please note that counselors are not responsible for changing diapers.

Half Day: Harding residents $195, non–residents $215
Full Day: Harding residents $310, non–residents $340*
* Week 2 is only 4 days. Cost: $260 for residents, $290 for non-residents.

REQUIRED FORMS

Please provide an Immunization Record from your pediatrician's office, and a completed copy of the camp medical form.

PACKING LUNCH

If your camper is bringing lunch, please note that no refrigeration is available. Don't pack anything that will spoil!

GRADES K–6

Lots of engaging activities are packed into every day of camp, including all sorts of sports and games, arts & crafts, CrossFit Kids, enrichment, and even computing. And there are always special events on Fridays — something fun and completely different!

Campers will be grouped by grade level for all activities.

COUNSELORS

JOIN OUR TEAM!

Summer is just around the corner and plans are underway for another exciting season at the HTRA Day Camp!

Applications are now being accepted. Preference will first go to counselors with previous camp experience. We will only be hiring 12 counselors per week.

Applications must be completed by March 31.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

All first–time counselors must submit three letters of recommendation.

Please have them completed by teachers, coaches, church leaders, or employers, but not babysitting clients! Recommendations from family or friends will not be accepted. Please have all three letters delivered to us by April 15.

COUNSELOR APPLICATIONS

Please fill out the application form below. We may need to schedule an interview with first–time counselors, and we will be contacting your references.

All counselors younger than 19 years old must provide an Immunization Record obtained from your pediatrician's office.

CAMP ACTIVITIES

ARTS AND CRAFTS

A variety of arts and crafts activities will be offered. Some favorites: tie–dyeing, plaster molding, leather lacing, weaving, metal tooling, string art, sand painting, macramé and wood crafting. This year we’ll include nature walks and using nature items for crafts and games!

SPORTS

Campers will have an opportunity to participate in various sports activities such as soccer, softball, volleyball, basketball, tennis, kickball, 4–squares, ultimate Frisbee, and capture the flag.

ENRICHMENT

Campers will participate in many cooperative learning activities. They will act out stories and plays, encounter problem solving scenarios, and participate in team building activities.

PLAYGROUND AND CAMP CRAFTS

Campers will participate in outdoor and playground activities. This year we will have bounce houses, inflatable water slides and other outdoor additions!

COMPUTERS

Campers will have an opportunity to work in the computer lab on available programs.
